Distilled spirits lees ash as cement additive

چکیده
The voluminous generation of distilled spirits lees (DSL) in China presents a challenge for proper disposal and potential environmental pollution. In an effort to address this issue, study aimed find resourceful solution DSL utilization. application incinerated rice husk ash as mortar supplementary material cement provides innovative the DSL. Five samples (DSLA) were produced using both muffle furnace (MF) fluidized bed (FB) combustion at different temperatures. properties DSLA characterized through measurements specific surface area observations scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Mortar specimens prepared by replacing 10% with DSLA, strength tests conducted. SEM results revealed crisscross mesh structures samples. Additionally, findings indicated strong connection between areas micromorphology. work, all samples, except one FB 800 °C, could improve compressive flexural strengths suitable employment additives.

Measurement of ethanol consumed in distilled spirits.
The amount of ethanol consumed in alcoholic beverages is often used as one indicator of alcohol's impact on health and society. An objective method of measuring the amount consumed in liquor can be derived in most years from the federal excise taxes and revenues that are levied on liquor according to proof or ethanol content. Similar measurement is not possible for wine and beer. Ethanol consum...

متن کاملSuitability of Oil Shale Ash as a Constituent of Cement
Physical and chemical characteristics of ashes formed at burning oil shale at temperatures 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 and 1030 °C were studied. Standard procedures were used to determine both pozzolanic activity and binding parameters. The most suitable characteristics were provided with oil shale ash formed at 700 °C. Ashes (15 and 30%) were added to ordinary Portland cement. The optimum pozzolan...
متن کاملEffect of Cement-fly Ash Additive on Compaction and Strength of Reservoir Dredged Material
Tremendous quantities of reservoir deposited sediments are required to be dredged regularly to maintain the storage capacity of the reservoir. The reservoir dredged material (RDM) can be utilized as construction material after admixing with additives such as cement and fly ash thereby improving its strength characteristics. This research paper presents results of laboratory investigation carrie...
متن کاملBagasse ash and rice husk ash as cement replacement in self-compacting concrete
In studies conducted to determine the workability of concrete, the bagasse ash and rice husk ash were added as a partial replacement for cement. Trial mixes with the varying water cement ratio, replacement percentage, quantity of super plasticizer and viscosity modifying agent, were prepared and tested. The results were used as the basis for defining three optimum cement replacement mix proport...
